Pumpkin Patch

Linda's daughter, Maren, tried on her witch's hat getting ready to go to the pumpkin patch!
What a cuttie.
Samantha is much to cute to be a witch.

This angelic face belongsto little Samantha,
Bethaney's daughter
Maren enjoyed rubbing the pumpkins, especially the wet ones.

What a SMILE! It warms Grandma and Grandpa's heart.
Lance picked his pumpkin and is ready to leave.
The kids loved the hay maze and ran and played and bumped into each other.

Samantha and Emily decided the hair on their witch's hats was more fun to use as

hula skirts. They even know how to swing and sway their little hips!

We are so blessed to have these sweet children and their parents in our life.

I made a real mess of my last post. Guess I still have a lot to learn about blogging.

Just a Month to go!!

Brad and Julie's little dog, Bailey, broke his tiny leg and had to have
surgery and a cast on his front leg. He is recovering well.

Adam and Jeff have enjoyed their season tickets to the University of Utah Football games.

Emilie and Maren having fun at
Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Celebrating Grandma's birthday were Matt and Vayle and their family, and Brad (Julie was home taking care of Bailey who wasn't feeling well after his surgery).

Mike, Bethaney, Brian, Lance
& Samantha came to celebrate.

Jeff, Linda and Jake at grandma's party. Jake made grandma a fantastic birthday card.

Linda and Shane went out to dinner to celebrate Shane's birthday, but they came back to our house to share the delicious strawberry ice cream cake.

Every couple of months, Ken's brothers and sisters and their spouses get together for dinner. Back row: Rosemary, Del Rae, Laraine. Front: Ken and Bruce. Christine is not in picture because she lives in Chicago.

More fun at the zoo with grandchildren.
Matt, Vayle and Rhett.

Samantha and Lance on zoo merry-go-round with Grandma. The twins were a little nervous.

Linda and girls at Zoo.

Rhett loves the movie, "Cars"
so his Birthday Cake was
designed especially for him.

Rhett (Matt & Vayle's son) turned two years old. His aunts, uncles and cousins came to our house to celebrate. Cute Cake!!

Called to Serve

At 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning the mailman stopped by our house to deliver our Mission Call. Despite the temptation to steam open the envelope, we waited until the family gathered at
7:00 p.m. to open the envelope. We have been assigned to the Canada Vancouver Mission---
and we are thrilled!!!

We will be there during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, so perhaps we will be able to experience the Olympic games again. The mission area is from the Canadian Border to the Alaskan border in British Columbia.

We are so grateful for the great family support at the opening of our mission call. Everyone was there except for Brad, who was on a plane returning from a business trip. Thanks to our
wonderful children, children-in-law, and grandchildren for your love, help, and encouraging words. You are the GREATEST!

Fun time at the Zoo.

We went early in the morning and the animals were active and playful. The black bears were playing in the pool There was a baby giraffe, a baby spotted leopard , and baby triplet monkeys, The baby elephant won't be ready to show for a few more weeks.

Enjoying the train ride were our son, Matt--his son, Rhett--baby daughter, Laurel--and Matt's
wife, Vayle.

We hope to get our mission call this Wednesday.
